NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled Windows Network Administrator to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our Windows server environments and network infrastructure. You will ensure system availability, security, and performance while providing technical support to users and maintaining documentation.

NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DFS, DNS, and DHCP. Server operating systems ranging from Server 2008 to current. Manage and optimize replication of domain controllers, DNS, and DFS across multiple sites. Strong knowledge of the best practices surrounding the design and implementation of Group Policies and Active Directory is a must.
  • Monitor network performance utilizing cloud based monitoring tools like n-able, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize system reliability.
  • Configure and manage network hardware including modern enterprise firewalls and layer 3 switches. Design and implementation of redundant site to site VPN as well as client vpn connections for remote employees. Experience with SonicWALL is a plus.
  • Be a part of the team that will plan, implement, and support a migration to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. Experience in Dynamics BC or similar Microsoft ERP solution is a plus.
  • Plan and implement a future migration from google workspace to Microsoft 365.
  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and network resources.
  • Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery planning. Manage and maintain multi site backup repositories including local, SMB, and cloud based storage like Wasabi. Experience with Veeam is a plus.
  • Manage and maintain existing Ubiquiti wireless network infrastructure and ensure best practices are implemented with regard to security and management.
  • Monitor and support the help desk ticketing system and address issues/reported bugs in order of priority with clear and timely communication to all concerned parties, escalating to appropriate parties only as necessary in pursuit of issue resolution.
  • Manage and maintain cloud based phones systems like RingCental to include call centers and site failover.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and resolve hardware/software issues.
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Maintain IT asset database and coordinated between responsible parties to ensure data stays up to date and in compliance. Perform annual asset audits to ensure responsible parties stay in compliance with IT asset management policies.
  • Manage and keep warranty and vendor support and sales contacts up to date and warranties current for all critical IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance of all software licensing across all vendors including but not limited to Microsoft, Adobe, and other line of business applications.
  • Maintain vendor relationships including but not limited to ISP, VAR, IT and Software consulting vendors.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement the company's technical strategy, aligning it with business goals and needs.
  • Base of operation will be in Houston, TX but travel to other locations in Dallas, San Antonio, and Phoenix will be required from time to time.
NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Windows Network Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems and networking protocols.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies like Hyper-V or VMware.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA, CCNP, CCNA).
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation tasks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or similar Microsoft ERP products.

  • Store Hours: Monday-Friday 8AM-6:00PM, Saturday 8AM-3PM
  • Require working some Saturdays.
