BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.Expected Duration: 12 months contract to hire.Job Type: Contract to hire, [Hybrid/On-Site]Pay Range: [$68.00] to [$72.50]Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).Job Description:Title: Software EngineerLocation: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)Duration: 12 months contract to hireJob Description:- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others-Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes-Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus-Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle-Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies-Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectRequired:-Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience-Hands-on practical experience in system design, AI full stack development, testing, and operational stability-Hands on experience with MLOps tools and practices, ensuring seamless integration of machine learning models into production environments.-Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable experience in data modeling, machine learning, NLP, API etc.)-Use a range of different technologies and languages (such as Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React) to develop applications-Proficient in coding in Java based frameworks like Spring boot/Spring.-Able to design React UI components as per the business requirements.-Familiar with development tools such as Jenkins, GIT/Bitbucket, Jira, etc.-Understanding of technologies such as Micro services, Containers, Oracle DB, SQL, NoSQL, Splunk, Dynatrace, Pivotal Cloud Foundry.-Formal training or certification on applied AIML concepts and applied experience.-Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills-Exposure to working with LLM application and building the necessary models using RAG.-Understanding of the Application ObservabilitySRE concepts like SLI & SLO and Error budget.-Exposure to PromQL is an added advantage.-Experience with APIGEE API management system.Benefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm providing unique solutions supporting value capture and digital product delivery needs for organizations around the world.
