New Horizons, a nonprofit serving special needs adults in the San Fernando Valley for more than 60 years, seeks dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Life Skills Instructors.

This will be a very rewarding experience for reliable people who have a passion to help others.

A perfect part-time or second job

No experience necessary. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Flexible availability. 25 - 40 hours a week (may include weekends)

Schedule: Monday - Friday (8am - 4pm) (4pm - 12am) (12am - 8am), Every other weekend or as needed

Rate: $20.00 - $21.00

As a Life Skills Instructor, you will have the opportunity to empower individuals with special needs to develop essential life skills and maximize their independence. Requirements

  • Must speak English
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with special needs / developmental disabilities (preferred)
  • Computer/ Smartphone Knowledge, and understanding of filing forms for section 8, medical, Cal-works, and unemployment if necessary.
  • Driver's License for 3+ years required. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
