Alyeska Resort is seeking a detail oriented and customer service centric professional to coordinate and direct inventory movement and administrative support functions for the retail department as well as participate in management of retail stores to ensure operations and front line sales clerks are supported in serving our guests. This position will function as part of the retail management team and as such will provide secondary shop coverage in all locations including lunch break relief for clerks on a daily basis. This position will be expected to take ownership of retail administration work areas to maintain organization and order within the office and warehouse spaces.

Role qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Position responsibilities:
  • Answer phones and perform general office and clerical duties.
  • Process and maintain purchase orders, invoices, check requests and related records for the retail department.
  • Maintain department database, physical files and archives while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Create new products within existing database and ensure all data is consistent and error free
  • Review paperwork for all required information and signatures.
  • Manages daily administrative operations of the department including establishing work priorities and assist in resolving problems related to the day-to-day operations of the department.
  • Responsible for helping with inventory control.
  • Ability to work in all shops including obtaining an Alaska state TAPS card as required.
  • Work weekends and holidays
  • Complete tasks as assigned with minimal supervision
Essential skills and experience:
  • Interest in retail products, operations, and the activities related to our shop focuses
  • Proficiency in MS Office and advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
  • Inventory/Point of Sale software experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 2 years related experience or training preferred.
  • Knowledge of office merchandise, equipment, ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to analyze, establish and maintain efficient office work flow and administrative processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
  • Must be customer-service oriented and be a self starter.
