We are seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care for patients in a mental health/psychiatric environment. Our nurses design and assist in the development of overall care plans for psychiatric patients to ensure appropriate care in a manner conducive to recovery. We offer competitive compensation with opportunities for advancement through our Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). As a Psychiatric RN you will:
- Interview, examine, and assess the health status of psychiatric patients with various cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders
- Write treatment plans; coordinate patient drug and procedure activities; administer medication and treatment; provide and coordinate nursing care of assigned patients; may facilitate group therapy and/or education sessions
- Chart and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patients' conditions; collect and document data and information; may perform computerized data entry
- Assist with special tests and procedures, ensure proper consent has been obtained
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with Hospitals standards
Qualifications:
- Program Graduate from nationally accredited nursing program
- Active RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM and CPR/BLS certification within 30 days
- One year of directly related experience preferred
- Ability to communicate in English effectively; bilingual in Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo is preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, days/nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Physical ability to meet job demands
