We are a full service residential and commercial lawn and landscaping company. Our services include routine landscape maintenance and install to landscape construction including walkway, patio, retaining wall, firepit, and fence installation to excavation and grading. This position requires experience in planning and executing the development of hardscape layouts. The hardscape foreman must have experience in construction, basic electricity, basic plumbing, and works with minimal supervision. You will direct the activities of a team of two or more in the construction of paver, concrete and natural stone patios, fire pits, walkways, retaining walls, garden ponds, and low-voltage lighting. Overview: You must have experience in the industry with good problem solving and critical thinking skills as well as the ability to perform tasks with little to no oversight. This position requires relative experience or education of the specifications mentioned. Compensation will be determined based off of experience. Core Capabilities: Customer and quality focusEffective communication skills (both verbal and written)Team workExcellent problem solving abilitiesResponsibility and dependabilityEthics and integrity Responsibilities included but not limited to: Manage the execution of construction projects, planning labor requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of job(s) within project deadlinesManage safety, quality and productivity of work at sites and/or shop/yardAssist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of the projectSupervise, coordinate, and schedule the day to day work activities of a landscape construction crew of 2-3 employeesDelegate job tasks to appropriate crew members to assist in the completion of landscape constructionsParticipate in recruitment activties by conducting secondary interviews with potential job candidatesConduct on site orientations with new employees and employees in new positions, which cover all company health and safety policies, practices, and proceduresOperating tools and equipment applicable to job specifications: skid loader, dingo, stone grinder, chop saw, plate compactor, jack hammer, chainsaws, laser levels, etc.Installing paver, concrete, and natural stone patios/walkways/retaining walls, fences, etc.Install garden pondsInstall low-voltage lightingPerform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basisRead and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activitiesComplete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis, including: daily site meeting logs, crew daily forms, equipment daily inspection forms, attendance tracking, time and materials billing summaries, requests for time off, etc.Comply with all company policies and regulationsMaintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, job sites, and shop/yard areasEnsure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standardsEnforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on job sitesEmployee trainingCommunicate with customers in a polite and courteous mannerUse knowledge of elevations to execute plans accordinglyConduct use of company vehicles and equipment in a respectful and safe mannerEnsure that job is completed in a time-efficient manner Requirements: High School Diploma, GED or equivalentMinimum of 5 years experience in the landscape/construction industryCapable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible mannerEffective communication skills (both verbal and written)Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlinesTime management skillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and specificationsMust possess a valid drivers licenseKnowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practicesSpeak, read, and write EnglishCarry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting Work Conditions: Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materialsAbility to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shiftAbility to work in a fast paced environmentExcellent stamina is requiredWork near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basisWork outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and coldFlexible working hours including occasional weekend work
