RN – Labor & Delivery - Travel Pay Rate: $74.64 Request #: 33373781 Location: 100 Madison Avenue Morristown, NJ, 07960, US Morristown Medical Centre Role Summary Our client is seeking an RN – Labor & Delivery – Travel who is responsible & accountable for educating patients with the help of preparing the chart. The ideal candidate knows unit-specific job functions with safety and patient satisfaction in mind and demonstrates professionalism in assessment & clinical skills by documenting the records correctly. Key Results Area Has competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from Paediatric to Geriatric and delivers patient care appropriately. Performs thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills. Performs direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept. Provides competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures Maintains complete and accurate documentation. Demonstrates knowledge of documentation guidelines. Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient’s progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient’s chart including patient education Demonstrates professional practice responsibility. Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and can identify areas for clinical and professional growth Consistently responds to patients/families and co-workers in a professional, courteous, positive manner to promote an environment where the patient and family are at the center and the patient care team works cooperatively toward their goals and objectives. Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines Consistently follows the National Patient Safety Goals including following Universal Protocol and identifying patients utilizing 2 patient identifiers. Demonstrates use of safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self, and patient Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered by surgical patients. Individualizes patient care according to the procedure and type of aesthesia across the continuum of care. Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions Contributes to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care by prioritizing the care of patients depending on their needs and any changes in their condition Assesses patient’s understanding of surgical procedure/instructions, actively including the patient and family members in teaching. Performs pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education. Job Function: 10. Duties Specific to PAT RN. Supports the completion of patient testing promptly. Evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health. Skills & Qualifications Physical Requirements: As defined by Occupation Safety/OMS ACLS - Required BLS - Required RN License – Required Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing associate or bachelor’s Degree – Preferred The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience, with a preference for individuals who bring a wealth of expertise to the role.
