Responsible for the overall quality of the final printed product, packaging, and shipping, as well as the overall condition of the equipment and work area. Assist press operators as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for job setup, as follows: Review job tickets for specified finishing instructions. Ensure all necessary materials (packaging) and information is on hand prior to the start of job. Set the job up per instructions on the work order. Change blades on the holder (or slitter wheels if running shear) as needed. Setup, operate, and adjust rewinder for optimal performance. Responsible for the production of job, as follows: Inspect and ensure the quality of print and die-cut, including: Color Register Die strike (die-cut) Free of imperfections, such as hickeys, broken type, etc. Ensure the samples are of the best quality possible Package product per client instructions Maintain inventory of packing materials Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise. Maintain an awareness of the schedule, achieving the best possible production speeds. Accurately record production of finished product. Communicate maintenance needs, supply, and safety issues to management. Complete end-of-shift/job reports as required. Perform maintenance as needed. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance as required. Comply with company rules, regulations, and standard operating procedures. Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data. Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve the quality and operating efficiency of the department. Inform the manager/supervisor of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives. Perform other related duties, as required, to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Trade school, high school, or GED preferred, plus 2-3 years of rewinding experience on narrow webs or equivalent. COMPETENCIES Technical/mechanical aptitude Quality conscious Detail oriented Knowledge of computers Ability to read and write English OTHER SKILLS PREFERRED Knowledge of Label Traxx software
