Job Title: Project Engineer

Shift: Day Shift

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Overview:

The Project Engineer (PE) will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for optimizing machining processes using lean principles to produce high-quality products. This includes developing process routings, managing tooling, collaborating with shop floor teams, and ensuring product quality, cost, and delivery standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review customer requirements from POs, blueprints, and specifications
  • Develop and maintain process routings, operation instructions, and tooling
  • Collaborate with quality engineers on inspection processes and equipment selection
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Provide technical support to shop floor personnel
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions (FMEA, DMAIC, 5 WHY)
  • Quote work, review legacy parts, and ensure profitability and on-time delivery
  • Attend customer meetings and assist with training new team members
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards (AS9100, Nadcap)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in manufacturing engineering (or 10+ years with high school diploma)
  • Strong knowledge of machining, GD&T, CAD software (NX, AutoCAD), and lean principles
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or similar certification preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality systems (AS9100, ISO, NADCAP)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
