Veterinarian Emergency

Are you a Veterinarian looking for a fast-paced environment where no day is the same? The Applied Companies is assisting a valued Client in Reno, NV, in finding an Emergency Veterinarian who will be responsible for providing immediate medical care to animals in crisis situations. Duties will include evaluating and diagnosing urgent medical conditions, performing emergency surgical procedures, prescribing medication, and stabilizing patients. You must have a strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology, as well as the ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.

Key responsibilities:
1. Assessing and treating animals with urgent medical conditions
2. Performing emergency surgical procedures, such as wound repair and fracture stabilization
3. Administering medication and fluids to stabilize patients
4. Monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in patient condition
5. Communicating with pet owners about treatment options and prognosis
6. Collaborating with other veterinary professionals to provide comprehensive care
7. Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation
8. Participating in continuing education to stay current on emergency medical techniques and treatments

Qualifications:
1. Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
2. License to practice veterinary medicine in the state
3. Prior experience in emergency medicine or critical care preferred
4. Strong diagnostic and surgical skills
5. Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Compassion and empathy for animals and their owners.

Need to be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as emergencies can happen at any time. This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to handle high-stress situations with professionalism and compassion.
