Job Description

We are seeking dedicated healthcare support professionals to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing essential care and support to patients, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings, orientation, and trainings as directed by charge nurse and management.

  • Clean and tidy rooms, ensuring all areas and items are labeled as per policy and maintained every shift.

  • Serve meals in a timely fashion and report any changes in dietary intake to the Charge Nurse.

  • Answer call bells promptly.

  • Ensure safety at all times by practicing prevention through observation, correcting environmental problems, and using protective devices as ordered. Follow emergency, fire, and disaster procedures.

  • Report any items to be ordered, repaired, or missing to the Charge Nurse.

  • Document care provided on the appropriate forms during and at the end of each shift.

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from an accredited program.

  • At least 6 months of experience working in a similar setting.

  • High customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to follow directions and report back to the charge nurse.

  • High attention to detail and patience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Proficiency with computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with patient care and medical record keeping.

  • Customer service experience in a healthcare setting.

Work Environment

This position is based in a short-term care facility in Windham, CT, catering to 20-30 patients a day. The work environment is collaborative, with a strong emphasis on teamwork. The schedule includes two shifts: Day Shift (7am-3pm, four 8-hour days) with every other weekend at a $1/hr weekend differential, and Second Shift (3pm-11pm, four 8-hour days) with a $1/hr shift differential and an additional $1/hr weekend differential for every other weekend. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $23.00/hr.
