Description

Investment Management Associates can expect to spend the majority of time focused on trading implementation for all TCI clients. These responsibilities include maintaining investment account settings, monitoring client transactions, and implementing portfolio & investment strategies. In collaboration with other members of the Investment Management team, Investment Management Associates can expect to spend some of their time focused on research and analysis of investment solutions in a client-focused context. Investment Management Associate responsibilities include support of day-to-day portfolio management needs, proactively monitoring for and executing on trading solutions in client accounts.

Requirements

The Investment Management Associate I can expect to display competency in the following areas:

Performing daily trading functions:

  • Monitoring for rebalancing, cash management needs and implementing trade activity within client investment accounts
  • Processing trade requests from Advisor teams
  • Setting up new accounts for trading within Tamarac
  • Implementing allocation or cash management changes within client accounts
  • Reviewing daily trading reports such as margin balances, custodian alerts and new deposits, taking trading action as required
  • Ensuring accuracy of trade execution through custodian platforms primarily involving mutual funds and ETFs, and occasionally individual stocks and bonds (NOT active management/day-trading)
Providing trading and auxiliary investment analysis support to the Investment Management team:
  • Alerting the appropriate team member(s) to trading issues with client portfolios to resolve in a timely manner, occasionally consulting with recommendations on client-specific solutions
  • Research, analyze, and resolve trading issues in collaboration with other members of the Investment Management team
  • Creating and implementing solutions to client-specific or complex scenarios with other members of the Investment Management team
  • Managing the trading implementation of cyclical or opportunistic workflow events (RMDs, dividend payouts, billing cycles, tax loss harvesting opportunities, etc.)

Participate in special projects involving the Investment Management Team as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related degree. Alternative fields of study will be considered.
  • 1 - 3 years of trading experience, preferably in an RIA environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Tamarac software preferred
  • Strong, highly developed analytical skills
  • High degree of attention to detail
