Responsibilities Serve as a liaison between the organization and external entities such as computer specialists, functional users and security specialists for program support. Develop/formulate database policy and guidance to establish appropriate management structure, processes, procedures and practices for program implementation and regulatory compliance. Demonstrate experience leading high level integrated product teams or teams or groups of highly technical work groups such as software testers, engineers, computer specialists or security specialists. Represent the organization to higher echelons regarding complex and controversial IA issues and explain complicated technical requirements. Demonstrate technical expertise relative to vehicular risk assessment efforts, cross domain, system vulnerabilities and program management concepts and methodologies. Develop attacks or exploits to generate reports of findings for mitigation and or solutions. Coordinate technical vulnerability testing with external entities to identify and counter unauthorized intrusion, vulnerabilities, exploits and penetration. Basic Requirement for IT Specialist (Data Management): (1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: leading others by setting the standards for the quality of work, even in the most difficult and/or high pressure circumstances; reviewing and editing work completed by others to ensure that the quality of work meets acceptable work standards. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: using expertise and experience to address complex problems, questions, or complaints; anticipating customer needs and modify the team's work activities, processes, and practices to meet these needs; collaborating across team and outside of own team to organize planning sessions that elicit ideas for improving customer service and support. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, applicant must also meet the specialized experience below to qualify for this position. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:) Manage accounts, and access to systems, databases, and equipment's for the agency, 2) Diagnoses and resolves problems in response to user reported incidents. 3) Design and maintain/modify tools and capabilities or information and data storage to ensure the agency employee can perform their duties as assigned. 4.) Utilize data management tools and interfaces with users, that leads software engineers to identify, specify, and define data requirements throughout the agency. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
