Job Description

ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking aTest Engineerto join ourteam that supports the Federal Aviation Administration in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. This role will make an impact by meeting the future needs of our FAA customer that includes securing data across networks in theenterprise.

SUMMARY:

  • Looking for a Test Engineer to perform System Test and Evaluation on FAA Air Traffic Control Voice Switching System and Equipment. This is a large complex communications system vital to air traffic operations and safety. The position interfaces with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and is the point of contact to provide technical expertise on system hardware upgrades and software configuration management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Experience developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Developing and executing test procedures to verify requirements.
  • Writing/editing/debugging test productivity tools and other duties as required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Security
  • US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years
  • Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust
Requirements

Required:
  • Bachelor of Science in ComputerScience or Math, or a Bachelor’s degree in another technical field
    with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and
    computer science and twelve (12) years of related work experience in a computer science or math field ORMaster’s Degree in any field ofstudy with a minimum of thirty (30)semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination ofmathematics, statistics, and computer science and nine (9) years related work experience in a computer science or math field.OR PhD or Doctorial in a related field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrador grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiar with Microsoft Operating System and Linux based operating systems.
  • Knowledge of enterprise system architecture and voice switching.
  • Knowledge of Defect Tracking systems, for example Redmine, Jira, etc.
  • Writing, revising, reviewing, and executing System Test Plans and Procedures to ensure system under test meets all defined requirements.
  • Evaluate and test software using various testing techniques to verify functionality and performance according to specifications and requirements.
  • Collaborate with functional and development teams to define and analyze test artifacts.
  • Analyze test artifacts to identify system problems and options for improving the effectiveness of the test procedures.
  • Contribute to the setup, configuration, and maintenance of the System under test.

  • Familiar with use of test tools (oscilloscope, VOM, TIMS, etc.)
  • Understanding analog and digital signals.
  • Familiar with Requirements Management and VRTM development.
  • Knowledge of analog and /or VoIP Telecommunications systems, voice, data, radio, fiber optics, T1, SIP.
Preferred:
  • Familiar with virtualization software
  • Field support and Telecommunications system maintenance experience is a plus.
  • Experience in providing HW CM support.
  • Experience with Autodesk Vault
  • Experience working with or supporting the FAA
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Located on-site at the WJHTC, EHT, NJ
  • Limited travel
