Job Description:

Manage, schedule and expedite the flow of resources within or between various departments as assigned. Duties include master scheduling production to meet customer orders and expectations, directing the review and distribution of production job travelers, day-to-day purchasing of key materials, work directly with leadership team to prepare stock level and production capacity plans, conferring with department supervisors/leads to determine progress of work and completion dates; and supplying updates on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems. This position is responsible for effective communication between the Customer Service, Sales and Production departments.

1. Directs in-plant distribution of work schedules.

2. Planning and scheduling workflow according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

3. Planning sequence of assembly and other manufacturing operations for guidance of production workers.

4. Adjusts schedules to meet emergencies caused by extended lead times, increased production demands, or expedite requests.

5. Help develop new planning/scheduling tools and their derived reports.

6. Set manufacturing priorities and work with manufacturing to assure that priorities are run in a timely fashion.

7. Monitors, analyzes & reports production's schedule obtainment, utilizing information derived from Epicor.

8. Interfaces with Purchasing, Engineering, Sales, and Production to ensure plant efficiency and ultimately customer satisfaction.

9. Negotiates with outside supply vendors; ensures accurate and timely delivery of orders.

10. Resolves problems utilizing acquired knowledge & analytical abilities.

11. Provide supervision or direction to assure inventory accuracy.

12. Manage the purchasing transactions for materials as assigned.

Qualifications

Successful candidate should have a degree in manufacturing, or a closely related field, with a strong work history in the manufacturing industry. Good communication skills are necessary for adequate task completion. A.P.I.C.S. certification is desirable. Experience with scheduling, scheduling tools and purchasing is required.

Direct related experience of 10 or more years may be considered in exchange for 4 year degree requirement.

This position will be exposed to both office and production floor environments. Candidates must be able to meet all safety requirements when working in Production areas.
