Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Full Stack Backend Developer to lead our talented development team. This role is pivotal in enhancing and scaling Bridge, our core CMS, to meet the evolving needs of our clients and projects. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in full-stack development, with a particular focus on backend technologies, and a proven track record of leading development teams to success.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a small team of developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Architecture and Development: Design and implement scalable, high-performance software solutions using our core stack: Rust for API development, Vue.js for the front-end UI, Mongo Atlas for our database, and AWS for hosting.
  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and quality assurance processes, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning of Bridge's future development roadmap, aligning with Downstream's vision and client needs.
  • Client Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, other development teams, and clients to understand their needs and translate them into robust features and enhancements for Bridge.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to drive innovation within the team and our projects.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience as a full-stack developer, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentorship role.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in API development using Rust. Strong experience with front-end development, specifically Vue.js. Familiarity with DocumentDB,Mongo Atlas and SQL for database management. Extensive knowledge of AWS for hosting, deployment, configuration. Familiarity with monitoring solutions like Data Dog, New Relic. Knowledge of Docker, containers and microservices architectures. Strong ability to implement robust security and aid in improving the security stance for Downstream and its clients.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of developers, with excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
