Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Finance Director, the Court Manager oversees the operation of the Municipal Court, working closely with the Municipal Court Judge, directly supervising the Municipal Court Supervisor, and indirectly supervising all other court staff. The Court Manager is responsible for leading a team of dedicated court staff and ensuring that court operations comply with legal requirements and meet the needs of all customers. The Manager oversees the Municipal Court budget as well as leading the implementation of new programs and processes.

Duties and Responsibilities
The individual in this position is expected to engage in the following work-related activities.
- Manage employees: Supervise and guide employees to meet city goals. Handle hiring, training, and performance reviews. Address employee concerns and enforce disciplinary processes.
- Oversee Court operations: Manage court functions, ensuring compliance with regulations. Develop plans, set standards, and improve performance. Maintain court calendars and implement changes.
- Customer service: Establish and promote high standards for internal and external customer service. Model exceptional service, and train staff to uphold customer service standards, working creatively to solve customer issues in positive ways.
- Community engagement: Establish partnerships with local businesses and officials. Develop programs to enhance justice systems and services. Provide leadership in justice-related initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work with the Presiding Judge and Court Supervisor to implement court procedures and legal changes. Foster community partnerships for improved justice initiatives.
- Facilities and security: Address facility issues and ensure court security in collaboration with the City.
- Technology management: Manage court case system and plan for technology updates. Integrate new tools and multimedia resources.
- Reporting: Develop accurate court statistics reports to track performance.
- Project leadership: Lead or participate in projects that enhance court operations.
- Interdepartmental coordination: Coordinate with various government bodies, Judiciary members, legal professionals, and city departments.
- Contract management: Contract individuals for required court services. Approve payments to contractors and consultants.
- Budget management: Prepare, recommend, and manage the Municipal Court budget. Monitor expenses, authorize purchases, and engage in the city's budget process.
- Records management: Adhere to policies for proper records management.
- Act with respect and integrity, promote, and support diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
- In an emergency event or an officially declared State of Emergency, responds as directed to ensure the restoration of essential public services, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Performs related duties as necessary to achieve the objectives of the position.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as outlined in this job description. in business, public administration, or a related field, and
- 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar position and/or performing similar tasks.
- 1 year of managerial experience
- Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) certification required within 30 days of hire
- Ability to pass reference checks and education verification, and satisfy the requirements of a background check, including Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) fingerprints.
- Ability to satisfy the requirements of a pre-employment drug screen.
- 5+ year of experience in a public safety, Justic, legal or court setting
- Bachelor's degree in public administration
