Pediatric Hospitalist opening in Minnesota _x000D x000D_ Located in Mankato, MN - 80 miles from Minneapolis, MN_x000D_ Part-time, permanent opening_x000D_ Hospital-employed_x000D_ Accepting H1b visas_x000D x000D_The Department of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine in Mankato, MN, is seeking a board certified/board eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join our vibrant, growing pediatric practice in the Health Systems largest hub site in Minnesota. Clinic has over 1,500 deliveries per year. Inpatient Pediatric Care Team has an opening for a Supplemental Pediatric Hospitalist_x000D x000D_ Seeking a board certified/board eligible Pediatric Hospitalist _x000D_ Physicians will work both independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team to assess, diagnose, manage, and evaluate the health care needs of neonates, infants and children_x000D_ Care for patients affected by prematurity, respiratory distress, infectious diseases, congenital heart disease, and/or other anomalies_x000D_ Responsibilities include attendance at deliveries (including high-risk), resuscitation of newborns, care of healthy newborns, day-to-day management of babies in the Level II Nursery, and care of hospitalized children_x000D_ Procedures performed include circumcisions, umbilical central lines, lumbar punctures, frenulectomies, intubations, and emergent needle decompression of pneumothorax._x000D_ _x000D_ Services Provided: _x000D x000D_ The only Level II Nursery within 80 miles_x000D_ Provides care to premature babies and other newborns requiring special care due to low birth weight, respiratory distress, or various other disorders_x000D_ Babies requiring care in a NICU are transferred to Rochester or Minneapolis/St. Paul._x000D_ This position is solely inpatient_x000D_ Hospitalists stay in-house_x000D_ Shifts are 24 hours in length_x000D x000D_ Qualifications: _x000D_ _x000D_ A current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota_x000D_ DEA license_x000D_ Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics_x000D_ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification_x000D_ Need Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) upon hire_x000D_ Neonatal Resuscitation Plan (NRP) certification_x000D x000D_ Other qualifications: _x000D x000D_ Candidates will possess the ability to work independently/autonomously and interdependently with other health care professionals_x000D_ Extensive patient assessment skills using diagnostic methods and instruments are required as is the ability to develop appropriate plans of care, modifying as indicated_x000D_ Candidates will possess effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with patients, families and members of health care team. _x000D x000D_ Collaborative/Supportive Partnerships: _x000D x000D_The pediatric inpatient team is composed of pediatric hospitalists and advanced practice providers (APPs). The APPs assist with care of normal newborns. The Clinic pediatric subspecialists in Rochester provide a ready source of support and consultation.
