Precision Assembler-Medical Components and Sub-Assemblies
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Precision Assembler-Medical Components and Sub-Assemblies is responsible for the assembly of medical instruments and devices used in remote imaging and viewing applications; this person will work closely with all departments including Quality, Engineering, Operations, and the Machine Shop to ensure that all parts are produced timely and in accordance with all procedures and specifications. This position is responsible for ensuring all equipment and material are stored safely, properly, and are clearly identified. The person in this role is expected to understand the company's goals, therefore is conscientious of workflow improvements, cost efficiencies, and will be able to assist in special projects from time to time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assembles medical instrument components to be used for diagnostic imaging and surgical aids; assembles products built to meet company approved specifications and procedures.
Ensures products are built and tested according to documented procedures and completes all necessary forms as required by ISO13485.
Performs Factory Acceptance Testing of assembled product based on instructions and procedures prior to forwarding product to the Quality Department for final Inspection prior.
Verifies, troubleshoots and repairs returned items; works with engineering and manufacturing to use lessons learned to improve product and minimize future quality defects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A technical school degree in manufacturing is preferred but not required.
High school diploma or two years in the medical assembly industry.
Excellent manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
Soldering; specifically, while using a microscope.
Experience with measurement and testing equipment that is both electronic and mechanical.
Ability to read and comprehend both work instructions and assembly drawings.
Able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend, reach and lift to 50 pounds.
Must be willing to work overtime if requested by Supervisor to meet company production plans.
KEY ATTRIBUTES:
Knowledge of or experience working in an ISO/GMP/FDA regulated environment.
Ability to use common assembly tools as well as the ability to use a microscope.
Acute attention to detail with strong organizational skills, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Commitment to excellence and high standards as quality is taken very seriously.
Able to work well in teams as well as independently.
Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions while working with minimal guidance.
History of excellent work attendance.
