Responsibilities
- Preparing estate planning documents like wills, living wills, powers of attorney, deeds, and trusts
- Preparing and electronically filing probate court documents
- Assisting attorneys in estate planning and probate cases
- Talking with clients and potential clients to answer their questions and provide reassurance when needed
- Research legal issues
- Preparing correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and potential clients
- Managing client information and organizing client files
- Handling a real estate closing from start to finish
- Assisting the attorney in the filing and tracking of a MassHealth application
- We are looking for a paralegal who can help people understand the importance of estate planning and navigate the probate court system.
- Manage a real estate closing from start to finish, as well as support our Medicaid caseworker and attorney.
- We want to be known for helping clients come out of an extremely emotional process feeling as though they are a better person, in a better position, and that they had a team behind them that really cared and fought for them.
- We are growing fast, and we need a Paralegal who can hit the ground running.
- Paralegal certificate or degree
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word and Outlook
- Strong proficiency in CRM systems, particularly Clio
- Superb writing/editing skills
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Strong attention to detail in documents
- High degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated professional demeanor
- A skilled writer and proofreader who can organize your thoughts into writing and focus on the task at hand.
- Understands how to communicate directly with clients and provide outstanding customer service.
