Brand It’s an exciting time in pet food Post Holdings, Inc., recently announced an agreement to acquire Perfection Pet Foods, a leading manufacturer of private label and co-manufactured pet food and baked treats. The transaction is anticipated to close by the end of the calendar year in 2023. This role is part of the Perfection Pet Foods team of 250+ employees who will soon join the Post family to help grow the pet food business. Location Description Post Consumer Brands is proud to launch an all-new warehouse in Hutchins, TX (15 miles south of Dallas) to efficiently transport pet food, cereal, and all our products to store shelves. This air-conditioned facility will be over 1 million square feet and include all of the latest distribution technology to help deliver on PCB’s core purpose of making lives better by making delicious food accessible for all, including our furry friends Responsibilities Post Consumer Brands is coming to Hutchins, Texas We have a brand new 1.1 M square foot facility that will be opening late summer/early Fall. JOB FUNCTION This individual serves as an expert in Warehousing Policies and Procedures, Warehousing Setup, System Testing, and Deployment for all Post Consumer Brands Distribution Centers. Individual will have the technical expertise and knowledge to understand and troubleshoot all warehousing related systems with the ability to create best practices as well as train and coach others. Responsibilities may include interacting with visitors to the Northfield DC campus, monitoring restricted Inventory within the campus DCs, accountability for all Northfield campus DCs & Production site wooden pallet inventories & the replenishment of, assisting QA & Customer Solutions with the tracking & disposition/disposal of aged & wasted items, greet & direct all outbound/inbound over the road drivers & process all necessary paperwork (BOL’s/Pack slips/etc.), troubleshoots inventory discrepancies with the Accounting group . This individual must possess strong interpersonal skills & excellent multitasking abilities. JOB ACTIVITIES/DUTIES Customer Focus Inventory Accuracy Quality Control and Compliance Coordinate and investigate inventory and shipping inquiries made by warehouse personnel. Prepare and distribute warehouse reports requested by warehouse supervisor, warehouse personnel, production, QA, and etc. Provide explanations on how to interpret transactional information. Investigate inventory questions and discrepancies posed by internal (Accounting/Quality) customers, and take corrective action if needed Monitor and maintain all inventories for all campus wooden pallets including GMA White Wood, CHEP. Reorder as needed. CHEP pallets are rented and transactions must be done on the website to transfer them out of our inventory and move them out to our customer sites as shipped. Fulfill Key Performance Metrics Technical/Functional Expertise Evaluate and make recommendations related to space utilization in campus DC’s that store aged/wasted items. Identify and maintain methods to streamline office procedures. Be the key Warehousing partner for all testing scenarios. Utilize WMS and other applications to successfully test different IT scenarios for implementation of projects. High Jump Advantage Dashboard. High Jump Web terminal. JD Edwards OTM Microsoft Office 365 Supertool Work with inbound drivers and office staff to facilitate trailer placement at various campus DC’s or yard storage locations. Validate carrier pick up information, correct forms are filled out and completed, and print appropriate Bill of Lading for outbound shipments. Communicate to incoming Customer Pick-Up carriers PCB internal safety policies and procedures prior to loading and allowing on PCB loading docks. Strategy – Assist in development / implementation of processes and procedures to support and improve DC office operations. When efficient processes have been set up, pass along same data to other DC’s to help them out. Tools – Maintain an excellent knowledge of related applications to support warehouse operations. Daily Execution Maintain and communicate all company inventory control policies, practices and procedures within all facilities Responsible for identifying the training needs related to inventory control for each facility and scheduling appropriate trainers to roll out the proper training Maintain an excellent knowledge of related applications to support warehouse operations (High Jump, JD Edwards, OTM, etc.), monitors warehouse JDE transactions to ensure inventory between systems stay in sync. Makes required adjustments as necessary. Identify and lead research around inventory related problems, resolve issues, finds root causes, and develop solutions with cross functional teams. Identify opportunities to improve procedural flows and/or reduce variation Act as subject matter expert, super user, training developer or trainer as assigned for inventory movement, cycle counts and inventory control process Track, report and communicate Key Performance Indicators, perform root cause analysis, demonstrate continuous improvement and follow-up on action plans in the inventory control process Noncompliant/Hold/Quarantine – Monitors product statuses in all warehouses to support business operations. Gathers are required data in the effort to capture all product in any efforts to identify and place product on hold in the event of a product retrieval. All shipped bills of lading must be scanned onto the Hyland OnBase daily. Audit documents and input manual data for BOL’s without Ship dates. Order office supplies as needed by office coworkers and/or warehouse staff. Deal with damaged cases of cereal which might go to “Take Home”, go to waste and which cases go to Channel One as a donation. Check out invalid LP’s at various sites and notify manufacturing site as needed to solve problem. Maintain Excel spreadsheets containing various data, pallet log, damaged case food shelf loads, Customer Pickups, Invalid/MISSHIP LP’s, Pallet Log, etc. Process accumulated data at month end and transmit findings to appropriate personnel as requested. Make adjustments on web terminal as needed for damaged cases, food shelf loads, etc. Make adjustments to Receipts from Vendor loads. Review noncompliance and quarantined items for accurate timely dispositions of product. Maintain logs for Driver Check in, Outbound load pickup, after Hours Load pickup and Inbound Empty Trailers. Communicate with Purchasing about outsourced manufactured goods with external vendors. Order Waste feed trailers and Cardboard trailers for DC locations in Northfield. Maintain filing of Outbound and Inbound BOL’s to hold for the required period of time. Create generic LP’s for warehouse personnel and for outsourced manufactured goods that we receive in. Use OTM to determine which facility is preparing and shipping loads. This aids us when a driver shows for a load which in not ready for shipment. Learning the functions of OTM and JDE to gather information that we had once used COSMOS for. Answer phones and assist callers. Direct calls to Dispatch to set up CPU appointments. Direct calls to individuals when needed Key Performance Metrics Pallet Inventory Excess Aged / Waste Inventory Results – Meet key metrics. Evaluate and identify inventory discrepancies, while continually monitoring compliance Evaluate demonstrated performance against targeted performance and identify opportunities to lessen any gaps. Engage and inform DC manager(s) of transactional errors. Provide specific recommendations and obtain approval to act on them Assists in development and maintenance of Inventory Accuracy policies. Analyze Act Act Opportunity – Assist in investigating problems, finds root causes, and develops solutions. Identify opportunities to improve warehouse procedural flows and/or reduce variation and implement same. Resolution - Resolve issues that may affect scope, quality, service, schedule, budget, or resources related to Inventory Accuracy Organizational and People Development Serve as the expert on Inventory Transactions, and educate others. Develop strong smooth-running relationships and processes with all interfacing departments. Development – Develop yourself against the competency profiles for successful leaders at Post Consumer Brands. High Performance Teams – Backup Dispatching and Material Handling duties when needed Responsible for the on-time loading so that loads will be in a ready to ship status prior to the promised ready to ship time. Coordinate yard activities including spotter driver direction; trailer inventory; and work flow. Provide work direction to warehouse loaders. Assist loading crews – special loading instructions, inventory/load discrepancies. Adjust picks based on changes in information. Print bill of ladings and review for accuracy. Ensure carrier drivers have all required paperwork for load transport. Ensure proper load documentation is stored in PCB systems as required. Ability to load and unload trailer and complete required training if needed Communicate with and manage inbound carriers and CPU drivers. Coordinate less than truckload orders. (LTL) Assist in pulling cases from inventory for sales samples picks, aged product sample and noncompliance returns to production facilities. Schedule pick-ups with partial carriers (such as FedEx and/or UPS) to ensure on time delivery to customer. Maintain the loading schedule, trailer list, and short product report. Provide to the management team as needed. Provide back up to the team leads during absences. Maintain dispatch board for accuracy throughout the shift; also perform door check each afternoon or before end of shift. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Work with customer service, transportation, production scheduling, and production to resolve shipment issues. Qualifications Education: College degree preferred, High School Diploma required. One year post high school training in office skills and/or data entry is preferred. On-going training/education in Microsoft Office applications is required. Experience: 2 years office experience required. Ability to type 40 wpm with accuracy, data entry, word processing, Ability to write memos, letters and reports. Skills: Good communication and presentation skills. Ability to manage many details with a high level of accuracy while establishing timelines and meeting deadlines. Ability to initiate, coordinate, collaborate, and move forward on planned activities in a team environment while maintaining a strong customer focus. Demonstrated high level of competency in PC applications and the ability to use technology as a decision support tool, including a broad range of computer skills -- database, spreadsheet, statistics applications and business planning software packages. Strong mathematical, quantitative, and analytical skills are required. Self-directed; Ability to communicate findings, make recommendations and facilitate change. Comfortable working with individuals at all levels of the organization. Good interpersonal and professional skills. Superior skills in prioritizing workloads.
