Responsibilities:

This position will have a schedule of 3-days/week (T, W, Th)

The Dental Hygienist performs professional dental care the field of dental hygiene including all related clinical procedures.

Prepares treatment materials/trays according to the needs of individual participants.
Screens and evaluates patients regarding cavity detection, periodontal pathology and medical history.
Performs exposing, processing and mounting of radiographs.
Administers local anesthetics and gross debridement in treatment of acute periodontal conditions.
Performs supra and sub gingival scaling and curettage, root planning and oral prophylaxis.
Administers topical fluorides.
Provides instruction for proper home care prevention techniques for oral hygiene including proper tooth brushing, flossing and nutrition.
Documents procedures performed.
Assists in the training of dental assistants.
Cleans treatment room(s) after each participant visit by discarding all disposable items, gathering soiled instruments, and placing them in the sterilization area.
Checks treatment rooms for cleanliness and corrects as necessary

REQUIRED

Current state issued Dental Hygienist license
1+ yr as Dental Hygienist
High School Diploma or GED
