About the Team & Role:
We’re looking for a Sr. Data Analyst to join our lean-and-mean centralized Data & Analytics team at Atmosphere.
We are a full-stack operation, responsible for the end-to-end ingestion, transformation and distillation of 1+ billion daily analytics events into actionable insights and models that drive value for internal business teams and external partners alike.
We play a critical role in assessing the health and profitability of Atmosphere’s massive digital out-of-home network, one that reaches 150M+ viewers annually across a fleet of 70K+ streaming devices.
The ideal candidate for this role -
- Understands the importance of a clean data foundation and has hands-on experience developing and maintaining data structures (e.g. lakes, warehouses, pipelines) in support of fast, consistent and accurate data delivery
- Can separate information from noise within a truly Big Data environment, and knows how to manage frameworks that facilitate this process at scale
- Works smart across a range of analytical tools and methodologies, understanding the massive potential of GenAI while acknowledging it doesn’t need to be the answer for, like, everything
- Has a narrative-oriented approach to report building and analysis, and possesses a strong ability to connect changes in top-level metrics to underlying drivers and use compelling visualizations to drive home key findings
- Has a bias toward actionability of analysis, making the business better by recommending executable tactics that support the overarching strategy
- Knows how and when to effectively engage with stakeholders and teammates, viewing themselves as a partner in the decision-making process and building trust through goal alignment, process transparency, and world-class output
This is an on-site role in Austin, TX Availability to be in-office 4-5 days a week is required.
Role Responsibilities:
- Establish the foundation for our advertiser-facing data product, making Atmosphere a value-added partner in both ad campaign strategy and delivery.
- Drive strategic campaign reporting initiatives related to audience exposure, ROAS, brand awareness, and incrementality measurement.
- Ensure we are maximizing the potential of our ad inventory through sellthrough and marketplace pricing analysis.
- Identify opportunities for growth within our programmatic ads funnel, from auction bidding & ad serving strategies to potential breakage.
- Assess tradeoffs between ad monetization levers and the broader viewer experience as a Content First streaming service.
- Partner with Ad team department leaders to identify and monitor performance KPIs that consider strength of process and strength of results.
- Thoughtfully grow and maintain source-of-truth reporting data marts for our ads products, and be a proactive investigator of potential data quality and freshness issues.
Requirements:
- 4+ years experience working in an analytical role, with 2+ years leading cross-functional data projects
- Expert SQL skills including knowledge of advanced analytical functions, database table management and general query optimization best-practices
- High level of proficiency with BI reporting platforms like Tableau, Looker, Sigma
- Hands-on experience with Python and common analytical libraries - numpy, pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn, etc
- Knowledge of statistical concepts, ideally with experience in A/B testing experiment design and measurement
- Experience with pipeline management and orchestration tools - e.g. Airflow, dbt - is a plus
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
