You will play a crucial role in maintaining our commitment to delivering exceptional vacation experiences. Leading a team of skilled professionals, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to foster innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practices.

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision and direction for the Engineering Department, aligning with the resort's overall objectives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence while ensuring accountability.
  • Implement, train, and enforce safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for guests and employees.
  • Be responsible for the effective scheduling and budgeting of the Engineering Department; manage capital reservations and expenses, P&L reviews, and expense forecasting.
  • Oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of the resort's infrastructure, mechanical systems, and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of major Capital and Reserve improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring contract compliance and effective partnerships.
  • Manage the procurement and inventory of all tools and materials purchased and assigned to the Engineering Department.
  • Ability to create documents using Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in maintenance and operations of F&B, landscaping, pools, grounds keeping, and laundry facilities.
  • Proficiency in effectively using resort operations devices and software (HotSOS).
  • Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed.
  • Expert ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical data, and O&M manuals.
  • Must be able to recognize and resolve potential hazards on the property.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and battery-powered tools, as well as other relevant tools required for the job.
  • Ability to work using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, dust masks, and within confined/restricted spaces.
  • Ability to interpret and address guest needs through positive interactions toward resolutions.
  • Must adhere to all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures.
  • Must always represent Westgate Resorts professionally through appearance, attire, and behavior.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by resort operations leadership

Qualifications:
Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor's or associate degree in a maintenance-related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a resort/commercial environment.
  • CPO, HVAC,EPA certifications is required.
  • Must be detail-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to various tasks, perform effectively under pressure, and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Must communicate effectively with immediate supervisors and resort leadership.
  • Written and verbal communication in English is expected.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license in the state of employment.
  • OSHA safety certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required.
