This position is full time, 6:30a - 3p.

We’re looking for an experienced Surgical Assist / First Assist (SA/FA) . Our Technologist are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and operate at a higher level of practice .

  • responsible for assisting the surgeon under direct and indirect supervision throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and post-operative duties and procedures

  • Provide aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions

  • Familiar with common positions related to the procedure and will be able to use the equipment necessary to provide the position

  • Utilizes appropriate standards of care, and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care.

  • Successfully completes hospital and department-based orientation programs, attending educational programs to develop optimal knowledge in area of specialty.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate and /or certification from surgical assisting programs accredited through ARC/STSA.

  • 2 years of surgical assistant/first assistant experience is required. Some areas may require specialized experience. (i.e. in cardiothoracic surgery, two years of directly related experience is required).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.

  • Patient Population: Orthopedics, Robotics-General/Bariatrics GYN, GYN-Oncology, Urology, Surgical Oncology, Vascular, Pain Management, Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT) and Ophthalmology

  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1
