Job Description

ROLE

Under the leadership of the CHNA-CHIP Project Director and with oversight from the Boston Community Health Collaborative (BCHC), the coordinator will be responsible for supporting all aspects of coordination and implementation of the triennial community health needs assessment and community health improvement plan in the City of Boston. This includes support for the Boston Community Health Collaborative, Operations Committee, Communications, four CHIP Working Groups, and all other working groups associated with the current community health needs assessment and community health improvement plan. The coordiantor will also participate in any and all planning for future community health needs assessments and community health improvement plans.

DUTIES

  • Support the Project Director and the BCHC leadership to leverage resources across multi-sector stakeholders to achieve the Implementation plan goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate BCHC's work groups by focusing on the execution of the collaborative's shared community health improvement plan, coordinating with partners and co-chairs and supporting the facilitation of virtual and in-person meetings, set agendas, and promote alignment of shared work.
  • Engage, build, collaborate, and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the community, healthcare leaders, and government leaders.
  • Working to help BPHC become an antiracist organization by meeting or exceeding the standards set by the BPHC Anti-Racism Policy.
  • Support grant writing, application submission, and grant reporting efforts related to funding.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of planned activities, as well as direct support to the Collaborative.
  • Compiles data and prepares regular and ad hoc reports and presentations.
  • Monitors and tracks project deliverables.
  • Acts as a liaison and resource for multi-disciplinary team members.
  • Serves as the point-of-contact.Organizes key meetings and events .
  • Supports organizational structure for the project to advance racial equity and uses equitable decision-making processes which centers on community voice.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Public Health, Health Policy or related experience is required.
  • This role requires a high level of initiative and judgement, strong communication to coordinate cross-agency operational functionS.
  • Knowledge of the impact of structural and institutional racism, as well as other forms of structural violence, and inequity.
  • Familiarity of Boston's neighborhoods, particularly Boston neighborhoods with historically marginalized populations and poorer health outcomes. Community organizing, coalition, or mobilizing experience is valued.
  • Ability to synthesize, prepare and present information, written and oral, including reports, presentations, and other materials in a clear, coherent, and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Knowledge of designing and implementing public health programs.
  • Skill in facilitating groups.
  • Familiarity with collecting and analyzing qualitative and/or quantitative data valued.
  • Community organizing or mobilizing experience is valued .
  • Commitment to health equity and racial/social justice issues.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the role of public health in addressing racism, the social determinants of health, and inequities in health outcomes as well as strategies to advance racial justice and health equity.
