BASIC FUNCTION:

The Recreation Aide will be responsible for overseeing activities operations of the Native Connections Clubhouse under the direction of the Prevention Supervisor and the Behavioral and Community Services Director. The Recreation Aide will organize, plan, implement, and supervise activities to develop pro-social skills that promote long-term health, wellness, recovery and a drug-free lifestyle with youth participants and in cooperation with the Prevention Team.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Promotes a friendly, welcoming, safe and positive environment at all times by enforcing Native Connections Clubhouse rules and regulations for all participants, families, and staff.
  1. Provide positive guidance and role-modeling by engaging with participants.
  1. Work collaboratively with Prevention Department staff to provide and implement programming to participants.
  1. Work collaboratively with other Seneca Nation (SN) departments and outside agencies to host programming and presentations.
  1. Promote the Clubhouse within other SN departments, within the community and local school districts as well as other agencies as needed.
  1. Maintain data collection as required for reporting purposes.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and safety of facilities and recreational areas at all times.
  1. Stay current with the Prevention Department by completing required trainings in a timely manner.
  1. Responsible for opening/closing and securing the Clubhouse at the beginning and end of shift.
  1. Maintain, organize, and store associated files and records appropriately.
  1. Attend and complete all mandatory staff meetings, trainings and in-services.
  1. Follow all policies and procedures of the department, Seneca Nation, and Seneca Nation Health System.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Stamina to engage in physical activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Seneca Culture or willingness to learn.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with education and/or recreational leadership preferred.
  • Experience in a large hospital, academic medical center, outpatient health care setting, or Indian Health Service (IHS)/tribal health, preferred.
