Faulkner University's College of Health Sciences invites qualified applicants with knowledge and experience in a specialty area of practice and a desire to educate health care professionals in a Christ-centered environment to apply for a faculty position in the physical therapy program. Candidates who join this program in the Department of Physical Therapy will be responsible for teaching in their area of expertise, research, student advisement and engaging in service related to the profession, university and the community. The program earned accredited status through CAPTE in April 2024. Faulkner University is a Christian university affiliated with the churches of Christ.

This is a full-time, 12 month position. Faculty rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with academic qualifications, teaching experience, research and relevant clinical specialist certifications.

Position is scheduled to begin August 2024.

Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree required
    • Terminal academic doctorate (PhD, ScD, EdD or DSc) from an accredited institution in a field related to physical therapy, or
    • DPT with advanced certification
  • Current and valid Alabama Physical Therapist license in good standing or eligible to obtain Alabama licensure within 90 days of hire required
  • Contemporary expertise in orthopedics, sports, neurology, or cardiopulmonary physical therapy (based on accreditation guidelines) required
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist required
  • Teaching and assessment experience in a graduate level program preferred
