TITLE: Certified Nursing Assistant I

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, Certificate of Completion from Accredited CNA I Program and Registered with NC Board of Nursing

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: All appliants must upload into the application a legible copy of a transcript showing the CNA course was completed, a resume, and the NCBOE CNA license.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and EC Health Services Coordinator or Supervising RN

JOB GOAL: To monitor status and provide and/or assist with medical procedures for a student that requires constant medical supervision and care during the school day as required by POC (Plan of Care).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor students' medical status during the school day.
  • Provides and/or assists with medical procedures as ordered by a physician during the school day. See POC (Plan of Care)
  • Provides and assists with students' personal care needs during the school day.
  • Notifies principal and EC Health Services Coordinator/Supervising RN of changes in student's health status.
  • Notifies principal and EC Health Services Coordinator/Supervising RN of changes in individual caregiver's health status.
  • Notifies principal and scheduling RN when absences may occur to determine coverage for students.
  • Serves as a team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement; supports and exhibits organizational core values of caring, respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer-driven, and valuing diversity.
  • Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Possess the visual acuity to work with data and figures, operate a computer, do extensive reading and prepare and present written and oral reports and statistical data.

Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.

Must possess the ability to work in all environments (hot, cold, inside, outside).
