SUMMARY

Follows oral and written instructions, the Cycle Counter is responsible for ensuring a high level of accuracy of inventory levels on campus by performing cycle counts daily, weekly and quarterly, and resolving any and all discrepancies in a timely manner.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must attend and pass the Johnson Controls manufacturing Training and Safety class (Exception: Department 810).

1+ years of work experience in a distribution center environment is highly preferred.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) applications.

Familiarity with warehouse management systems is preferred.

Previous experience in cycle counting highly desired.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Ability to accurately count product and convert counts into meters, feet, etc

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Excellent attention to detail.

Strong analytical skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure the integrity of the physical count of the in-house inventory via cycle counting and other duties assigned.

Execution of the Inventory cycle count per the Inventory Cycle Count Schedule

Segregating parts with visual signs of damage or deterioration

Documenting on specified Business Unit inventory cycle count work sheet the results of the count

and identifying the counts that exceed their established discrepancy tolerances

Re-count all parts that are out of tolerance

Ability to effectively communicate with two-way radio.

Overtime is required to meet production demands and can include Saturdays and Sundays when necessary.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or seven to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must complete the forklift training class and understand the Johnson Controls Manufacturing process and be detailed oriented.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and Operational Method Sheets (OMS). 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks.
