SQL Server Engineer

Looking for a SQL Server Engineer who has experience working in the marketing space and/or with marketing data. Hands on experience with Google Analytics is preferred but not required. Candidates who apply need to have a heavy SQL background and hands on involvement in creating tables and views to move existing data around in SQL. In this role you will be working on a small, very collaborative team and will have the opportunity to grow within the organization. Hands on experience with Talend is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Create simple but highly effective data solutions that increase the productivity of analysts to develop targeted audience segments
  • Design, implement, and operate SQL Server, SSAS and Snowflake data infrastructure to support marketing operations (segmentation, customer journey, analytics, and KPI reporting).
  • Implement data ingestion routines to curate data from internal sources (Insurance and Claims Systems), and external sources (Google Analytics, LisTrak for Email, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Affiliates, etc.)
  • Play a key role in elevating data capabilities of the Marketing organization by creating actionable data sets for campaign analysts and business intelligence analysts.
  • Develop data solutions for email and digital campaign performance reporting.
  • Develop automation and repeatable processes to cleanse data and maintain data integrity
  • Collaborate within our overall data engineering team to ensure marketing data models are created following engineering best practices and governance standards.
Qualifications
  • Expert in data modeling, who is comfortable working with datasets of varying complexity, and size.
  • 3+ years of hands-on industry experience with data modeling and data analytics.
  • Experience in data ingestion and ETL/ELT processes preferably Talend and Stitch.
  • Extensive expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) and Transact-SQL.
  • SQL expertise with multi-stage transformations and usage of more sophisticated transformation tools and methods, such as windowing functions and temp tables in Transact-SQL.
  • Experience with marketing attribution related pipelines and reporting requirements.
  • Experience implementing business logic into models that successfully drive business value.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate business concepts to partner analysts and teams.
  • A drive to learn the intricacies of the insurance business, with a versatile and dynamic understanding of businesses you've worked with in the past.
