Opportunity for Advancement: Our Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) offers five levels of increasing compensation based on Nursing Education and National Certifications. CAP levels potentially offer an additional $8.00 per hour, in addition to base pay. Relocation reimbursement and sign-on bonus available.

Shift Differentials: Personal growth starts with competitive compensation plans and increased pay opportunities. Overtime eligible. We offer 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend day shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of clinical skills within nursing protocols through the master preceptor model and educational leadership to enhance specialized patient care within clinical protocols
  • Perform as a unit educator while maintaining clinical skills by performing as a clinical instructor for students from the university nursing program on home unit and/or assisting in staffing on the unit
  • Develop patient-oriented care plans to incorporate evidenced-based research and national standards that will improve the quality of care for patient groups in a specialized area
  • Consult with and serve as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care
  • Educate appropriate employees in the department on the utilization of new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training/workshops for staff
  • Assist patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem-solving, and health management aspects across the continuum of care
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to plan and implement curricula that keep the department up-to-date on the latest in clinical practices
  • Monitor trends and implement educational strategies and protocols to ensure quality standards and parameters are achieved for patient care
  • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients, providing specialized patient care within nursing protocols and assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures while performing all RN nursing duties
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions or situations that might put a patient at undue risk and report potential risks in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Master's degree in nursing preferred
  • 18 months of directly related experience is essential
  • Current RN license in the state of New Mexico or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM. Current CPR for Healthcare/BLS provider or Professional Rescuers required within 30 days of hire
  • Instructor in Unit-Required Certifications required within 90 days of employment.
  • Credential equivalent experience includes Instructor in Unit-Required Certifications obtained within one year of position (BLS, ILS, NRP, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, etc)

Physical Demands: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly, to move objects or people, which is heavier than the physical demand requirements for medium work.

Working Conditions: Chemicals and biohazardous materials require PPE. The incumbent is required to be able to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
