Position Summary

Florida Interventional Specialists (FIS), a distinguished division of Radiology Associates of Florida (RAF), is seeking a dedicated full-time Interventional Radiologist to join our team in the highly desirable beachside community of Sarasota, Florida. With over nine interventional radiologists covering two main hospitals and several outpatient centers, we offer a dynamic and collaborative environment where you can leverage advanced imaging technologies to deliver exceptional patient care.

As a full-time, onsite Interventional Radiologist, you will share responsibilities with nine IR physician colleagues and eight physician extenders. This role involves performing and interpreting a broad spectrum of interventional procedures across clinic, inpatient, and outpatient settings, with a significant focus on supporting the local cancer center.

Candidates can expect a call frequency of 1 in 9, with dedicated post-call days off. The position is predominantly interventional, with flexible and light diagnostic radiology responsibilities. There are also opportunities for those interested to participate in diagnostic radiology rotations.

This is an associate partnership track opportunity with a full range of benefits and generous PTO. Upon joining RAF, an additional optional opportunity for those who are interested is an internal moonlighting program with unmatched flexibility, allowing radiologists to moonlight from home as much or as little as they prefer, without having to commit to extra shifts.

RAF is the largest radiology practice in Florida. We serve the most prestigious, established health systems in the state, including on the east and west coasts, the Florida Panhandle, and the Keys. Since our beginnings more than 50 years ago, we've enjoyed tremendous growth while keeping a commitment to superior service for our longtime partner hospitals. Our scale affords our practice stability and affords our radiologists flexibility in study mix and scheduling. We also recognize that scale alone does not beget excellence. We are quality-oriented, and we practice radiology at the cutting edge, encouraging subspecialty-level interpretations across the practice, and facilitating collaboration and consultation between our radiologists. Our state-of-the-art IT suite includes universal PACS across the practice, AI tools, and integrated doc-to-doc communication widgets.

Our practice is locally and democratically led, with decisions vested in the hands of the group at large, rather than in a few founders or a small group of shareholders. We are the teaching physicians for the University of South Florida Department of Radiology in Tampa. In Sarasota, our physicians staff the Florida State University College of Medicine, hosting medical students in their 3rd and 4th years. We also invite residents from the FSU Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residency programs to rotate in our departments.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Candidates must be a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy and residency trained in the practice of Diagnostic Radiology
  • Board eligible or certified by The American Board of Radiology or The American Osteopathic Board of Radiology
  • Subspecialty board certification in IR
  • Licensed or have the ability to be licensed in the state of FL
