Job Description
The Business Analyst supports reporting and analytics needs by working with Business Analytics leadership; service line, IT, and operational leaders; and teams responsible for the design and development of data and analytics solutions across the data ecosystem. The Business Analyst is responsible for managing the master data set, developing reports, and troubleshooting data issues. The role supports the development and delivery of data to stakeholders so that they have the information necessary to operate successfully.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the management of the BA intake process.
- Works closely with multidisciplinary teams in order to provide accurate and timely information.
- Assists with identification of data sources and data elements essential for inclusion in the data reporting.
- Assists with developing written documentation of system procedures, data field definitions and sources of the data.
- Maintains and enhances data integrity procedures and reports for continual improvement to ensure data quality standards are met. Oversees execution of procedures to this end.
- Manages and executes audits to ensure data integrity and system processing in accordance with enterprise Standards.
- Facilitates and/or designs reports and other data analysis tools for end users and consult with super users and analysts on reporting.
- Serves as the subject matter expert for development, implementation and operation for data reporting, modeling, and analysis of data.
- Constructs and debugs applications and automated processes to extract, transform and load (ETL) required data from various sources into databases using standard tools from major vendors (e.g., SSMS, SSIS).
- Acts as the BA liaison in data delivery including creation & automation.
- Works closely with BA leadership on ad hoc reporting, identifying areas of opportunity.
- Ensures data and analytics and EMR alignment for related processes, tools and policies provided by leadership.
- Acts as the champion for data quality.
- Communicates and fosters cross-functional collaboration with leadership and analytics stakeholders to develop analytics strategic objectives and goals.
- Ensures training support to educate staff on analytics tools, dashboard interpretation, best practices, and use of data to support organizational aims.
- Engages with the BHC Information Security Officer (ISO) to assure that data and patient privacy are integrated to the design, access, and management of information.
- Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry issues to leadership.
- 1-2 years of experience with databases and data retrieval, reporting, and extraction, including experience with SQL or similar coding logic required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Health Care, or other related field required
- Microsoft SQL experience preferred
