Development/Community Outreach Associate | Direct Hire position | FT (M-F, 9-5, 35 hrs/wk) | $50-55k/annually DOE | On-Site | Media, PA

A day in the life of a Development/Community Outreach Associate
  • Serve as the lead creator, writer and designer on a range of communication projects and materials with emphasis on digital platforms. Content includes weekly email updates, social media posts, press releases, agency reports and communications with constituents
  • Manage day-to-day operations of social media channels, email lists, constant contact and LinkedIn including back-end content management and organization
  • Collaborate with leadership team and other staff to create and maintain a content calendar for all communication needs
  • Oversee all dimensions of communications projects, including managing timelines, deliverables, milestones and relationships with collaborators, so that elements of each project are on track to meet deadlines and fulfill goals
  • Lead in organizing individual donor campaigns (e.g. direct mail, online giving days, workplace giving, etc.)
  • Identify 3-5 prospective private foundation funders per year, and ensure timely grant applications and, if funds are awarded, grant reports
  • Participate in conversations with community members, donors, contributors, and others invested in the organization's work


Requirements for the Development/Community Outreach Associate position
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, development or related field
  • Minimum 2-4 years of progressive, responsible development/fundraising experience, with a proven track record of increasing donor bases
  • Social media experience (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Excellent writer who is able to craft a concise and compelling case for the organization for use in materials, public speaking and in meetings
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Grant writing experience a plus
  • Must have knowledge of local/regional corporations
