Schedule/Hours Available:

  • Part-time: 24 hours per week, Monday through Friday day shifts, 8 hours shifts

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Uses and documents the nursing process to provide individualized patient-focused care in the ambulatory care setting

  • Serves outpatient populations needing chemotherapy, IV therapy, injections, blood, and blood product administration as well as wound care

  • Addresses the psychosocial, patient safety and support needs of outpatients and families receiving chemotherapy

  • Delegates appropriate responsibilities to other nursing personnel

  • Completed required administrative work associated with the patient appointment

  • Coordinates the nursing plan of care with the medical plan of care in the development and implementation of the Patient Care Plan

  • Performs patient care activities to provide for the physical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs of hte patient/family

  • Safety administers treatments, conducts nursing procedures, maintains and uses therapeutic equipment to carry out physician's orders which relate to the practice of nursing to patients of all ages

  • Administers medications including orals, injectables, intravenous solutions and blood components

Competencies required include:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Understanding of health care system and continuum of care

  • Proficient computer and telephone skills

  • Commitment to providing excellent patient care and overall experience

Education and experience required:

  • Current licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) in Minnesota

  • Must possess or obtain Oncology Nursing Society Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card within 3 months of hire
