Description

At DECKED, we're growing fast as a result of increased efficiency, productivity, and new product releases. To continue this trajectory, we're searching for a highly qualified chief of staff to work closely with our executive team. From Day 1, this person will immediately impact our productivity by streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management for business-critical initiatives, and communicating objectives to departments. The ideal candidate will have proven success in a business management role, with a special focus on strategic projects and interdepartmental collaboration.

Objectives of this role

  • Organizes and prioritizes critical issues and information for the executive to facilitate efficient decision-making.
  • Creates standards, cadence, and controls for project documentation and workflow.
  • Plans and executes company-wide initiatives, driving cross-functional project teams ensuring time is scheduled appropriately and competing priorities are managed efficiently and effectively.
  • Helps improve processes and optimize programs through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Analyzes large sets of data to extract insights for stakeholders with an audience ranging from executive management to front line staff.
  • Develops high quality presentations synthesizing learnings, outlining business objectives, and/or proposing operating recommendations.
  • Plans, coordinates, and attends meetings with or on behalf of the President. Shares information and captures notes electronically; ensures appropriate flow of communication. Manages follow-up commitments and action items to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Communicates directly, and on behalf of the President, with Executive Assistants, top customers, and key stakeholders.
  • Serves as liaison between President and internal stakeholders regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively, while balancing and prioritizing multiple or competing tasks.
  • Communicates orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and impartial manner.
  • Ability to develop compelling storylines to further business goals.
Required skills and qualifications
  • Seven or more years of experience in a business management or operations
  • Experience in organizing and directing multiple teams and departments
  • Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Versatile abilities and extreme dedication to efficient productivity
Preferred skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration or similar field
  • Experience in data analysis and budget management
  • Consulting experience, with a focus on operations management
  • Proven success in a project coordination role
  • Nimble business mind, focused on developing creative solutions
  • Strong project-reporting skills, with focus on interdepartmental communication
