SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst-Intern accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and present final project during the internship. This role will develop reporting, dashboards, and catalogs for the business. This role is expected to help clean, validate and organize data, calculate data metrics, and develop visualizations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Job shadow and learn technical skills related to business and analytics work
  • Clean and organize operational data sets.
  • Develops reports and dashboards, within PowerBI, that support the business.
  • Links data between disparate data sets.
  • Creates documentation for each data request or research project.
  • Interpret and communicates as summary of key findings, through presentations, data visualization views by utilizing appropriate analytic tools to meet the needs of Avel eCare stakeholders.
  • Research data integrity issues and identify root causes or inconsistencies and required cleanup.
  • Supports efforts to improve the day-to-day systems for Avel eCare. Streamline work processes with system solutions, maximize innovations and work collaboratively to provide quality seamless systems functionality and capability.
  • Triage and track internal and external data requests.
  • Provides support as needed to other internal teams when specific projects involving data analysis arise.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Completed or in the process of completing a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, statistics or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data manipulation preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Power BI or comparable data analysis and visualization tools preferred.
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and computational skills
