Per Diem Nurse II - Endoscopy

Job Summary:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in Endoscopy department
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures
  • Minimum requirement of two shifts per schedule
  • Patient care assignment may include neonate, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups

Responsibilities:

  • Follow patient safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in educational programs and professional growth opportunities
  • Maintain safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients
  • Implement and document individualized care plans
  • Administer medication and assist with special tests/procedures
  • Deliver safe direct care to assigned patients
  • Ensure patient medical records contain necessary information
  • Answer telephones and triage calls as per department policy
  • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns in a timely manner
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care
  • Adhere to core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Centered Specialty Practice

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of nationally accredited nursing program
  • 1 year directly related experience
  • Current RN license in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement
  • CPR/BLS certification for healthcare providers
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
  • Basic Arrhythmia certification within 1 year of hire
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for medium work
  • Must wear personal protective equipment when in contact with bio hazardous materials
