Position Summary/General Description:

A Lead Custodian assist in the delegation and oversight of custodial personnel and their work activities to maintain a clean environment for LDC casinos and related facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Participate and assist in the delegation and oversight of custodial personnel and their work activities throughout the corporations properties and related facilities such as, but not limited to: Vacuuming; mopping; scrubbing; panning/sweeping; disposing of trash/change trash bags as needed; cleaning ash trays; cleaning restrooms (e.g., clean toilets/urinals, countertops, and fill dispensers); cleaning table games (e.g., wipe tables and remove trash); cleaning slot machines and surrounding areas (e.g., clean gaming machines, clean between machines); cleaning windows, mirrors, walls, doors, carpet and other furnishings.
  • Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.
  • Participate in meetings and workshops to support custodial operations.
  • Model and enforce custodial department standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain equipment.
  • Train custodial personnel in the proper techniques of custodial duties
  • Apportion/coordinate daily cleaning duties of custodial personnel.

  • Build relationships and loyalty with guests both in person and on the phone through sincere and meaningful interactions (e.g., learn guests' names and preferences; connects with them individually and professionally; smiles; makes eye contact and verbally greets guests).
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of services, room locations, amenities, surroundings, providing accurate directions and information for guest inquiries about promotions and special events.
  • At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., coworkers, clients and vendors).
  • Work under pressure; maintain regular and punctual attendance including working odd and unusual hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Actively participate in Supervisory Development Leadership Series (SDLS) yearly.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • One to two years of custodial experience preferred & demonstrated ability to lead.
  • Knowledge and experience mixing, applying and disposing of chemical solutions and products preferred.
  • Knowledge of general safety rules, requirements, procedures, and reporting requirements and timelines preferred.
Licensing & Certification:
  • None.
Computer Equipment, Software, Machinery:
  • Experience with cleaning equipment such as a vacuum cleaner, wet vacuum, extractor and chariot vacuum.
Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Requires the ability to bend over, crouch/stoop, hear, reach overhead, sit, stand, turn/twist, walk and repetitive use of hands 51 to 100% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to balance/climb, crawls and kneel 25-50% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to push/pull, carry, lift and slide/transfer 1-25 lbs. 51-100% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to push/pull, lift and slide transfer 25-50+ lbs. 1-24% of the time.
Essential Mental Demands:
  • Requires the ability to solve problems, organize, plan, make decisions, interpret data, read and write 51% to 100% of the time.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Train and apportion work among employees.
Work Environment (inside/outside):
  • The job is performed indoors with exposure to loud noises and fumes.
Other Requirements:
  • Obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna's Gaming Control Board.
  • Must pass a pre-employment alcohol/drug screening.
