The Assembler will be responsible for performing production work in a manufacturing setting specifically the Assembly Department. Develop the skills and ability to complete all of the essential functions of Assembly. Responsible for daily preventative maintenance of equipment used, cleanliness of work area and delivery of product to next operation. PRIMARY DUTIES: Essential Functions/ Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Assuring work area is safe. Performing the various skills of assembling a Case knife. Employee must periodically fill out maintenance and/or tool & die requests to ensure all machines and fixtures are within specification to produce a quality knife and help eliminate/reduce scrap. Employee is required to assemble, bracker, and spin all patterns of knives. Employee is required at times to carry trays from the work station to the RS hafting rack and RHC racks. Employee at times may be required to get empty trays from other areas in the factory to take back to the assembly department. Employee is required to clean his or her work area daily at the end of the shift. Employee must maintain adherence to safety initiatives while working in his or her respective area in accordance with standard operating procedures. Employee is required to follow all quality assurance specification to find/prevent any defects such as (chipped or cracked covers, unacceptable center spins, unacceptable brackering, rusty blades, or unacceptable walk & talk). Responsible for cleanliness of the work area during and upon his or her completion of jobs. Take instructions from supervisors. Assist Engineering/Quality departments as needed. Accuracy: Responsible for completed the required tasks accurately, and following all standard operating procedures. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods in front of equipment. Moving: Normal, able to move throughout the department as required by operation. Lifting: Minimal, up to 35 pounds. Lifting of trays containing knives, and other components. Pushing/Pulling: As required by operation. Visual Acuity: Normal and/or corrected vision for inspection of work /components. Bending/Stooping: Normal, minimal. Hand Action: ability to pick up small pins and nails and put numerous parts together to make a knife. Safety equipment required - Safety glasses and hearing protection. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of W.R. Case Job/Safety Orientation.
