St. Anthony School is currently looking for a Speech and Language Pathologist for the 2024-2025 school year. Ideal candidates will contribute to a highly motivated, collaborative students.

SUMMARY

The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) will set ambitious goals for student achievement and invest in students, families, teachers and administrators in accomplishing those goals. The SLP will create a powerful learning environment, plan and deliver purposeful therapy in order to close gaps in communication and academic skills for students with speech or language delays. The SLP will review formal assessments and informally assess for the presence of speech and language impairments, track student progress towards goals, and analyze data to intervene and adjust therapy. They will report to the principal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides direct treatment to elementary students with speech and language impairments in individual and group settings

Uses a variety of service delivery models and evidence-based practice to support classroom curriculum

Conducts speech and language screenings to determine if referral to Local Education Agency (LEA) is necessary

Understands how children's language develop, especially dual language development

Implements a services plan based off LEA's IEP that outlines the treatment approach to be used

Documents student progress towards meeting established goals and objectives in quarterly reports to be shared with parents and teacher

Attend initial evaluation, re-evaluation, IEP, and Services Plan meetings with LEA for caseload students

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, students, and parents to ensure student is meeting goals as outlined in student services plan

Performs other duties as assigned by Chief Academic Officer, SNSP Administrator, Building Principal, or Dean of Instruction

Collaborate with SNSP administrator

Work with an educational assistant for translation as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

A graduate degree from an ASHA accredited university is required

Possesses and maintains a valid Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathologist License (DPI License #820)

Demonstrated results working with students

One or more years of experience working in an urban setting preferred

Skills, Beliefs, and Mindset:

Experience with diverse student populations in urban settings

Strong computer skills; e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, school information systems.

Bilingual Spanish/English (strongly preferred)

Ability to be flexible and be a team player

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and cultivate relationships with teachers, coaches, school leaders, and other home office departments

Willingness to go above and beyond to contribute to the success of a dynamic team committed to a new future for urban education

Understanding of the nuances of urban school environments and school culture
