Position Description:
The Cloud Administrator supports the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) at Patrick Space Force Base in Florida. This role will be responsible for managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and environments across various platforms, ensuring their security, performance, and reliability. This role requires in-depth knowledge of cloud services and technologies, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Provision, administer, monitor, and maintain cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Services across unclassified, secret, and top secret enclaves​​.
  • Security and Compliance: Establish and control cloud security protocols to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of cloud-based applications​​. Adhere to DoD and Air Force policies and accreditation standards​​.
  • Automation and Deployment: Install and manage containerization, automation, and deployment tools such as Docker, Ansible, CloudFormation, Terraform, and Puppet​​. Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) scripts​​.
  • Scripting and Programming: Create, test, deploy, and troubleshoot scripts in multiple languages including Ansible, Python, Go, Bash, Ruby, Groovy, and Perl​​.
  • Virtual Networks Administration: Manage virtual networks and environments using technologies such as VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V​​.
  • DevSecOps Environment: Plan and execute tasks within an agile DevSecOps framework, collaborating with team members to ensure alignment with organizational objectives​​.
  • Issue Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues in both applications and systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance​​.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including software version documents, installation guides, and technical reports. Provide monthly status reports and technical presentations as required​​.
  • Training and Support: Provide training to government civilian and military personnel, sharing expertise and best practices​​.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a cloud administrator with platforms such as AWS and Azure​​ and the ability to meet the key responsibilities of the position.
  • Education:
         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Required Certifications:
    • IAT Level 2 Certification: (One of the following required: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
    • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate (CSAA)
  • Desired Certifications: Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP); Docker Certified Associate (DCA); Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Skills: Proficiency in cloud platforms, scripting languages, and infrastructure management tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure environment.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess a Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI​​.
Work Environment:
The Cloud Administrator will be primarily based at Patrick SFB in Florida, working within a secured government facility. The role requires strict adherence to security protocols and may involve periodic on-call support to address mission-critical IT system issues outside of normal working hours​​.
