POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst will be responsible to monitor, investigate, analyze and report on the financial performance of all facilities.  The analyst will identify and recommend process changes that will improve revenue cycle. The analyst will use trend analysis and key performance indicator (KPI) variances to identify financial risk and opportunities to maximize financial return. The analysts will support the PSN core values, strategic plan and established Patient Financial Services goals and objectives.

POSITION’S ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and monitor Financial Dashboards daily for any variations and areas of potential risk. Monitor closely the trend in AR Days, unbilled charges, late charges, aging AR and cash collections. Perform detail analysis of discrepancies, report areas of high financial risk and make resolution recommendations to senior management.
  • Create and update weekly Denial/Write-off and Backend Summary reports and distribute to leadership team.
  • Generate, analyze, and distribute results of ad hoc reports as requested or identified in dashboards including, but not limited to, denial, ageing AR, cash, charge, and write-offs reports.
  • Lead projects as assigned to successful, on time completion including effective planning, coordinating the project team, establishing deadlines, and resolving barriers.
  • Continually strive to improve quality by identifying areas of potential risk and recommending improvement opportunities.
  • Be an active champion of methodical Change Control through presentation of change requests and review and perform impact analysis of other department change requests.
  • Maintain working relationships with facility vendors through scheduled meetings for status updates, data validation and reconciliation.
  • Generate Situation Background Assessment Resolution (SBARs) documents as needed to resolve open revenue cycle issues including identification, research, assessment, recommendation, and approval.
  • Remain cognizant of revenue cycle research, seminars, user groups, other facility ideas and monitor current industry trends for potential application to PSN Revenue Cycle. 
  • Evaluate and test pending upgrades and enhancements. Access optional upgrades and recommend implementation through best practice Change Control.
  • Draft Revenue Cycle Standard Work procedures, and/or revisions, based on approved requests.  Facilitate review, approval, and training of changes as needed.
  • Maintain a detailed personal work plan identifying deadlines, stakeholders, barriers, and resources for the successful accomplishment of all work.
  • Attend daily huddle and follow-up on staff related issues.
  • Interface the revenue cycle department managers and supervisors to stay abreast of any open issues and report the status.
  • All other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Advance excel skills required
  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle Reimbursement
  • Understanding of Payor Sources Contracts
  • Has the ability to remain calm, even under the most stressful of situations
  • Communicates well, both orally and in writing
  • Is able to switch priorities based upon patient need
  • Possesses a basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures
  • Is able to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
