Job Description
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Youth Training and Recruitment specialist works inside Federal Way Public Schools facilitating our “Pathway to Success Series” programming and co-facilitating curriculum for our community-based and summer programming efforts. Time will be split amongst current in-school and community-based projects. In this full-time position you will focus on facilitation of Build 2 Lead’s "Pathway to Success Series" curriculum virtually and in person. You initial training will consist of working directly with the Executive Director as you learn more about the vision and communities which Build2Lead serves. More of what you’ll do in this role:
Direct programming
- Facilitate Build 2 Lead Pathway to Success Series programing in-school, afterschool and during our GameChangers summer learning academy. Topics include social and emotional leadership development, mission and vision building, college and career readiness, financial literacy, and peer mentorship training.
- Recruit students for our community-based/afterschool civic engagement opportunities, workforce development, entrepreneurship learning module, and mentorship opportunities.
- Capture and track student key performance indicators for data detailing student progress. Â
- Attend workforce development certification trainings.
Case management
- Co-facilitate student's needs assessment.
- Provide students with connections to resources through B2L partner organizations.
- Hold student check and connect sessions monthly to track progress.
Stakeholder engagement
- Attend school-based meetings with key leaders and program partners in the building, build effective connections with community partner meetings in person and virtually and regularly attend B2L team huddles.
- Meet monthly with Key partners to discuss shared students and progress of partnership.
- Support the coordination B2L Legacy events.
- Recruit participants and presenters for B2L Legacy events.
- Attend pertinent staff meetings.
- Attend B2L Board Annual Retreat Meeting
