Job Summary
The Senior Engineer will work under Ametrine's Director of Engineering and is responsible for designing and coordinating the activities concerned with the production of Ametrine products. This role provides engineering and technical support to meet manufacturing and design requirements.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a strong desire to learn new skills and be comfortable working on larger project spanning weeks or months as well as fast turnaround projects requiring a couple of hours or days.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced engineering analyses, develop and validate complex models, and provide technical expertise for production
  • Project management skills, to include coordination with cross-functional teams while implementing new designs and improvements in order to plan project execution, allocate resources, and ensure project goals are met
  • Drive continuous improvement projects related to the product design and quality of products
  • Drive innovation where possible by introducing new technologies, materials, and methodologies to improve product production, design and enhance product capabilities and performance
  • Conducts engineering studies through data acquisition and analyzes results
  • Assists in the development of engineering plans and designs as well as technical reports
  • Assists and coordinates with manufacturing/operations personnel in the development of any requirements necessary to facilitate efficient production processes.
  • Assists in the investigation and analysis of new materials, equipment, and engineering practices
  • Prepares or assists in preparing engineering computations, estimates, surveys, statistics and minor designs
  • Coordinate with design and innovation teams to optimize designs for manufacturability
  • Designs and develops equipment required for testing and validating production parts
  • Assists in analyzing nonconforming production products to determine root cause and corrective action required
  • Evaluates existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements
  • Stay informed about relevant industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements, ensuring products meet all necessary criteria
  • Complete other projects and special assignments as assigned
Required Background and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
  • Advanced skills and knowledge of thermodynamic fundamentals
  • Experience with relevant software tools for design, analysis and simulation (Python, CAD), preferred
  • Database creation capability
  • Strong communications skills, particularly in presenting data and analysis to both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers.


The following activities are also required: reach (extending hands and arms in any direction), standing for long periods of time, walking (moving about to accomplish tasks), lifting (raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position), grasping (applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm), and repetitive motion (substantial moving of arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers) is required.

Other Requirements

Must be US Citizen (per US government contracts).

US security clearance preferred; ability to obtain upon employment is required.

May require domestic and/or international travel (+50%).

General work hours 8am-5pm, Monday thru Friday; flexibility to work evening hours when required.

Relocation: Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
