The Data Analyst will be tasked with data collection, such as sales numbers or market research, to help us make sound data driven decisions. After gathering all relevant information, these professionals extract insights from the vast amount of collected data through statistical and analytical techniques that detect patterns and trends. Data Analysts also collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and help them develop tools for collecting, organizing and analyzing information.

Skilled at designing and maintaining databases and data systems, Data Analysts ensure informational accuracy and integrity, generate reports and visualizations for stakeholders and help leadership with strategic planning based on the insights gleaned from their work.

This work encompasses several duties and responsibilities, including:
  • Consulting with executives and other business leaders to identify improvement opportunities
  • Creating reports for internal teams, external clients and/or stakeholders
  • Collaborating with team members to collect and analyze data
  • Visualizing data with graphs, infographics and other methods
  • Establishing KPIs to measure the effectiveness of business decisions
  • Structuring large data sets to find usable information
  • Processing information with a team of analysts and other associates
  • Crafting presentations and reports based on recommendations and findings
Requirements

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
  • Two or more years of higher education required
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered
  • General understanding of database functions and principles
  • Advanced Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent computer, typing and data entry skills
  • Proficient ability to communicate in English orally and in writing, and follow instructions
  • Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data
  • Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Knowledge
  • Administrative - Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, by providing courteous customer service to clients, visitors and vendors, and other employees.
  • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Mathematics - Knowledge of basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division
  • Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of computer hardware and software, phone systems, copiers, and printers.
  • Administration and Management - Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, time management, deadlines, corporate structure, and communication
