About the Role
Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide professional, goal-oriented center-based therapy services to pediatric clients. Our Pediatric Day Health Care Centers are bright, fun places designed especially for children with complex medical needs. We provide a safe, caring environment for children up to age eight to receive skilled nursing care and therapies while playing and interacting with their peers.

Position Details:
- Rate: Starting at $35/hour
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, daytime only; no nights and no weekends
- Provide occupational therapy services as prescribed by the physician.
- Conduct comprehensive written evaluations to define therapy needs, goals, and expected outcomes.
- Develop and implement a written Plan of Care, coordinating with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to ensure continuous care.
- Administer appropriate therapy techniques according to identified goals and treatment programs.
- Maintain effective communication between staff, healthcare team members, and families.
- Ensure patient safety through diligent administration of care.
- Serve as a resource consultant for clinical staff.
- Provide written evaluations and progress updates to physicians and Aveanna as required.
- Participate in in-services and case conferences as necessary.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) when required.
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current and unrestricted license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Florida.
- Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current CPR certification.
- Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with care policies and procedures.
- One year of recent experience as an Occupational Therapist in an acute care setting.
- Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Ability to adhere to confidentiality standards and maintain professional boundaries.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and twisting.
- Capability to reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
- Strong visual and hearing acuity.
- Ability to respond physically and mentally to emergency situations.
- Ability to function in a variety of center environments, which may involve exposure to allergens and other conditions.
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
