Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: 12-hour Day and Evening Shifts (Midshifts starting at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, or 1:00 PM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Emergency Room nursing
License: IL license required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNS or TNCC, NIHSS
Must-Have: Moderate sedation experience, flexibility in shift start times

Job Description:

- Provide emergency care in a community hospital setting
- Manage a range of cases from minor injuries to critical conditions such as respiratory viruses, myocardial infarction, and motor vehicle accidents
- Work within an ER with 24 beds, including 4 behavioral health safe rooms
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5, adjusted based on staffing and acuity
- Experience with critical care drips and moderate sedation required
- Collaborate with a healthcare team including a physician available 24/7, and support staff such as ED techs who assist with EKGs, blood draws, wound care, and more
- Work alongside respiratory therapists who manage equipment, while nurses perform troubleshooting and treatments as needed
- Utilize the ESI rating system for patient triage, with no separate fast track area
- Engage with a collaborative team including a house supervisor on duty 24/7 and a charge nurse who provides additional support
- Meet weekend and holiday requirements rotating with core staff
- Be prepared to float to other units such as Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or ICU if needed
- Wear solid color professional scrubs
