Job Description
Astera Labs is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Scientist. As a Principal Data Scientist, you will partner closely with hardware and software teams to align on objectives, refine complex problem statements, and co-develop innovative data collection strategies. You will leverage advanced statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to identify issues early and accelerate time-to-quality improvements. In this role, you will architect and deploy robust, cloud-native solutions for managing data pipelines, ensuring scalability and seamless integration across platforms. Additionally, you will establish comprehensive business intelligence and analytics frameworks, providing detailed engineering insights and executive-level roll-ups to drive data-driven decision-making and impactful reporting.
Basic Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science domains.
- 8+ years of experience applying AI/ML concepts to build solutions for semiconductor, hardware or software industry.
- Demonstrated ability to learn continuously and keep up with the latest research and tools in the AI/MLOps domains.
- Familiarity with the latest cloud solutions for data storage, ETL, and analytics.
- Experience working with subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate business and engineering goals into data science problems and develop solutions.
- Ability to execute from feasibility to prototype and provide solutions for production deployment.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Experience with data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with hardware and software lifecycle is a huge plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD.
The base salary range is $160,000.00 USD - $240,000.00 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
